It’s one of those things that comes up now and again … more so when I am sat in front of the computer, working away from home and instead of riding I get purchase compulsion.
Been looking at the Carver 96er and Killer B – both have 26″ rear wheels and a larger front wheel. The 96er having a 29″ wheel at front and the Killer Bee having a 650b wheel (measures 27.5″) at front.
Argument is front wheel being larger rolls over obstacles better, descends better while rear wheel being smaller keeps the acceleration intact where normal 29’ers fall down.
Tempting and titanium … $1200/frame with Rohloff specific dropouts – a better option I think than having an EBB or chain tensioners.
